Mum stuff | Finding joy...

This afternoon, I came home from work and found the sweetest thing on my kitchen counter...no, it wasn't chocolate cake, but how cool would that be!  My son left behind a poem that he wrote for school, and it was so lovely, I wanted to share it with you too.

Joy is the colour of bright green
It tastes like a delicious watermelon
Joy smells like a red rose
It looks like a beautiful sunset
Joy sounds like a bird tweeting a song
It feels like a dog licking you.
by Seth Warren

Now, I don't want to sound biased, but that's pretty damn good for an 8 year old boy! He has such a beautiful, sensitive side, and this poem just proves it.  It has brought pure joy to my day. That crumpled piece of paper is getting filed away for sure.

What simple moments have brought you joy?
