Review & Giveaway | Paw Products

This blog post is about Marley, my fur-baby, and how he came to be a part of our family.

The poor little thing has had a tough life. He was found wandering on the side of the road by the RSPCA when he was only 10ish weeks old (they think...he wasn't carrying a birth certificate at the time).  It was nearly Christmas, and the peeps at the pound thought he might be put down.  Being pretty damn cute, they just couldn't do that to him. He was rescued and sent to live with the lovely Heather (foster fur-mum) from DCH Animal Adoptions until a suitable home was found. Heather named him Reuben. REUBEN!!!

That's where we come in.  Andrew and the kids had been pining for a dog and Andrew often scoured the internet looking for a furry friend for our family to love.  One look at those little black eyes and he was smitten.  The only  I am NOT a pet person.  I reluctantly went along to meet "Reuben" and I have to admit, he was pretty adorable. He interacted with the kids well, and well...I caved in.  One week later (after he'd been desexed), he was our's to take home.  We all agreed that Reuben was a pretty sucky name for a dog, and it didn't sound very cool when you yelled it out. The measure of any good dog name (or child name for that matter), is how it sounds when its screamed from the front porch. A lot of names were bandied about Fui Fui Moi Moi?

Seth and Eme's loved the book "Bad Dog Marley" by John Grogan, so we decided our pup should be renamed Marley too. At the time I didn't know that the children's book was based on the very popular novel "Marley and Me", and that every second dog in the neighbourhood would also be named Marley. lol.  The kids felt that he needed a middle name too, and given that we'd knocked Fui Fui Moi Moi out of the running, we decided to honour another Parramatta Eels player...Nathan Hindmarsh.

So, long story short...Marley Hindmarsh Warren has been a part of our family for over three years. He's a bit of a ratbag, but he does manage to "do his business" in the garden, instead of on the grass, so I've got to give him kudos for that. He's excited every day when we get home from work, and he loves nothing better than running around chasing a ball, or lounging in the sun. He's not very good at taking direction and he's a champion at jumping up and down scratching at the glass I said, a lovable ratbag.

He's still a young pup with loads of energy, but during the colder months, even the fiestiest of dogs can feel a little lacklustre.  Pure Animal Wellbeing (PAW) by Blackmores recently sent Marley some PAW Active Pet Chews to test drive. Let me tell you a little secret...Marley will not sit for a Smackos, but he will do whatever you want just to get one of those chews! He actually sits, so they must taste pretty good. PAW Active Pet Chews are a tasty chicken based treat that contain everything your pup needs to maintain a healthy immune system, improve vitality and energy, and they're great for the a healthy coat and skin. Over the past month, he's been having one everyday, and he certainly looks like a happier pup with a bit more swing in his tail.

Speaking of a healthy coat...Marley has the worst hair known to man. He doesn't have fur, its hair...and it grows long and starts to look like dreadlocks occasionally.  Poor pup.  He does love a bath though, and PAW 2 in 1 conditioning shampoo is great for him. It smells like lavender and jojoba, so I don't mind giving him a cuddle once he's dry.  Not only does he smell good, but his hair is easier to brush afterwards. The bottle is pretty fancy for a dog looks right at home in our bathroom. Spoilt pup.

Do you want to spoil your pup too?
