Day 25 of 30

Day 25 – What’s in your handbag?

...or more appropriately...what's not in your handbag! lol.
nb: This photo was taken a few days after we went to see Bon Jovi. I transferred some of my stuff over to an evening bag and couldn't be bothered to put it all back together properly afterwards. So yes, my handbag currently has another handbag and two purses in it. Oh well...here it is...
  1. the actual handbag - teal and crochet rounds handmade by Silk and Purple
  2. black evening bag
  3. yellow everyday purse - Colette
  4. red evening purse - gift from my sister; super flat and perfect to put inside an evening bag
  5. purple makeup bag full of stuff girls need iykwim
  6. house keys
  7. work keys
  8. aqua cd - to copy for my friend Nat's daughter
  9. kung zhu battle hamster - chrissy pressie from Santa to Seth
  10. bon jovi ticket - for future scrapping
  11. ventollin
  12. three lipsticks
  13. pocket tissues
  14. buttermenthols
  15. soothers
  16. chewing gum
  17. antibiotics
  18. two cocktail umbrellas - the kids wanted to keep them after their sundaes
  19. loose change
  20. one of Eme's bracelets
Wow, that is a lot of crap! Time to clean it out!! Normally my dslr is in there too. No wonder I've buggered my neck and shoulders!

Hope you're all surviving well after Christmas.

Cheers, Lis.

Storyboard Kits | Fisher - December 2010

This month at Storyboard, its all about Christmas! I absolutely adore Christmas, yet I'm notoriously slack for not scrapping my Christmas photos. I think I'm about four years behind. oops!

This is one of those photos that I've been wanting to scrap and tell the story of the year that our children absolutely hated Santa! When the photographer showed us the photos, she suggested we try again another time. But no. I wanted that photo. It perfectly represented who our kids were at the time. Seth trying to climb over the top of me to get away. Eme sitting perfectly still but leaning away, looking very unsure of the big man in red. Thankfully mummy and daddy were close by to rescue them if needed. hehe.
Everything on this layout came from the "Fisher" kit, which is available now. The kit itself is valued at over $60, but can be your's for the bargain price of $45. Looking for a gift for a scrapbooker? Why not pick them up a kit. I'll even gift wrap it for you. lol.

I made this birdhouse using the "Fisher - off the page kit". The papers used are from the main kit.
Love this birdhouse by Scrapware! So gorgeous and easy to make. Its now sitting proudly amongst our Christmas ornaments in the loungeroom and the kids are constantly carrying it around the house. lol. It makes me happy when the kids enjoy the things I make.

Day 24 of 30

Day 24 – A photo of something that means a lot to you
Wowsers...only a few more days left of the meme! I wish that I had had time to do the days consecutively, but hey, sometimes life gets in the way.

So, onto today's topic...this chain was given to me by hubby for my birthday earlier this year and I absolutely love it. Its handmade by Lisa Leonard, and has a lovely long chain on it. I wear it most days and always find myself looking at it!
Its not the most expensive piece of jewellery in the world, but it came from the heart. I had dropped hints with hubby months earlier, and he came up with the goods big time! I love that it has our names stamped around the tree...and that little pearl is just the icing on the cake.

Aside from my wedding rings, this is my most treasured piece of jewellery.  Its perfectly me. Love it.

thanks for popping by, Lis.

Day 23 of 30

Day 23 – 15 facts about you (me. lol)
  1. I have never had a cup of coffee in my life. I hate the smell of it. I won't eat foods with coffee in it either. Thank goodness for chai lattes because now I have something to drink when I "go out for coffee" with friends.
  2. I lived by myself for a year in my early 20s and it was the most miserable year of my life! I ate chicken, chips and gravy so often that when I walked into the chicken shop, I didn't even have to order. Sad, just sad.
  3. I can't drive a manual car, and it doesn't bother me at all. I just don't need the added pressure of having to change gears as well. I love that I can just start my car and go.
  4. I am naturally blonde, with loads of silver highlights. lol. I have never felt the urge to dye my hair. I am, however, hoping to dye it a pinky peachy colour not unlike this when I'm really old...and I won't care if I look like an Easter egg.
  5. I often forget to eat until after 1pm, and by then I'm starving and pick something bad. Its a vicious cycle and I'm working on it.
  6. I love wearing colourful shoes and have over 30 pairs of ballet flats in many, many colours in my wardrobe. Scary prospect that I could wear a different pair of shoes everyday and not repeat them.
  7. I am excellent at procrastinating. Somedays I just don't know what I've done with my time.
  8. I hate talking on the telephone, although I hate text messages more. Just ring me and tell me what it is without the need for 15 return texts.
  9. I absolutely love watching home decorating shows on television! I could (and have) watch them all day long!
  10. I have a dry sense of humour. People always see me as a bit of a straight person, but once in a while I'll blurt out something frickin' hilarious that you just won't see coming. Having said that, I can't tell a joke to save my life.
  11. I am incredibly shy. I'm one of those quiet people in the corner at the party, I won't ever burst into a room and announce my presence.
  12. I love decorating cakes for my kids and every year they get to pick out what they would like. If its too difficult though, I just let them know I don't have the copyright to use that image. lol. This year Seth had a Mario cake and Eme had a butterfly cake. Usually though, after I've spent so much time decorating the cake, I don't want to eat it! Eme's was an exception this year because it was delicious!
  13. My favourite animal is the giraffe, but I had to stop telling people because my house was filling up with giraffe things! I fed a giraffe at Western Plains Zoo in May and I never realised how massive their heads are! It was a slightly scary experience, but I got teary because I was just so in awe of how beautiful they are close up. Have you ever seen how long a giraffe's eyelashes are?
  14. When I was younger, I wanted to be a sound engineer/roadie and make fabulous music and travel the world with talented musicians. I think I was too scared to go for it! I still absolutely love music and listen to all kinds of genres, much to hubby's dismay...yes there is room in the world for FloRida and Frankie Valli and Diamond Rio and Guns and Roses on the one playlist.
  15. I only ever wanted two children and it wouldn't have mattered whether they were boys or girls. I'm very blessed to be a mum to a son and a daughter. Seth and Eme are great kids and I love them dearly! I can't wait to see who they become and what their future holds. I just hope I give them the confidence and support to seek out their dreams.
Thanks for popping by, Lis.

White With 1 | December challenge

The next challenge for White With 1 has been revealed...and its white with grey and masking!

With that kind of colour scheme, I just had to use a black and white photograph. This one has been staring at me from the photo box for years, so its about time it made it onto a page! lol. I have masked the patterned paper at the bottom with white ink to create a delicate floral pattern over the polka dots. The lettering wasn't the colour I wanted either, so changed it with kindy glitz.
Want to play along?
Entries must be linked to this WW1 post no later than midnight December 31st.

Looking forward to seeing what you create!

Cheers, Lis.
