I'm still going strong with the 52 layouts project for this year...
Week 6 - Back to the daily grind
This week I went back to work after the Christmas holidays...here's a little glimpse at my workspace...
Week 7 - The Handbag
You know when you're walking along minding your business when you spy something out of the corner of your eye...well that's what happened here. I saw it, I had to buy it...it was that simple. I love slinging it over my shoulder every morning and heading off to work. Life is too short to have a boring black handbag.
Week 8 - My Valentine
Seems weird that Valentine's day landed in week 8, but it does. Andrew and I don't really celebrate Valentine's day, but this year I thought I'd surprise him with a long stemmed rose. It was so beautiful, how could I not share it with my love. awhhhh.
Just have to do Weeks 9 and 10, then I'm up to date!

Inspired Blueprints #42
I can't believe its the 15th already! Where is this year going??
The one great thing about it being the 15th, is the release of a new sketch at Inspired Blueprints. I love this sketch. Its so simple, yet so versatile. My layout is very true to the original sketch, however the design team have excelled themselves...flipping it, twisting it and making it their own. I think I'll be using this one over and over and over again! Check out the DT's designs here.
As I said...I stuck to the sketch on this one. When you're onto a good thing, stick to is I say. These pics were taken on our recent holiday to Merry Beach. Eme was frightened of the surf, but could play in the sand all day long! I think there was more sand stuck to her legs than left on the beach. We kept joking that she looked like an Eme schnitzel...hence the title. lol. My last few layouts have been a bit bright, so it was fun to break open the pastels (and yellow of course!).
If you want to play along, upload your take into the Inspired Blueprints gallery by midnight, 28 February 2010. Can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for popping by y'all. (I've been watching too much "Ruby".)
Cheers, Lis.
ps. Thanks for your comment Siobhan. I've seen the Scrapbook Trends in the newsagency, and you're right...the UK edition is half the price. I actually have a subscription to the US edition online, but sometimes its good to hold the real deal! lol.

Pebbles Inc reveal...
My other challenge to the Pebbles Inc DT this week, was to do a coverlift of this layout by Susan Weinroth! As soon as I saw this magazine on the stands, I just had to buy it...and at nearly $30 an issue in Australia, that just tells you how much I liked it! lol.
I totally fell in love with this layout. I love the colours, the random embellishments, the off centre photo...well everything! I haven't used my circle punches for ages either, so I blew the dust off them and had a go.
Here's my take...I've used the So Tweet collection by Pebbles Inc, as well as white Pebbles Chips. I loved the placement of the title on Susan's layout, and as it happened, the title suited my layout too.
Here's a little closeup...mmmmm, dotted swiss cardstock...makes me happy.
Check out the Pebbles Inc blog to see how the other DT girls interpreted the challenge here.
On a side note, I put a link on the Scrapbook Trends facebook page to let them know how inspired I was by the cover, and they decided to feature my layout on their blog! So exciting and unexpected!!

Scrapware - new releases!!
Scrapware has released a heap of new product this month, and three of the designs are by me! Ange is such a gem for turning my designs into gorgeous chipboard pieces.
I love flourishes, and I love butterflies, so it made sense for me to put the two together! I can't wait to play with it. Hello girlie layouts...
Head on over to the Scrapware store to see all the new releases.
I will be uploading some Scrapware layouts soon. In the meantime, if you are looking for more inspiration, why not check out the blog or join our community!
Cheers, Lis.

Butterfly flourish (LW15)
With Seth getting older, I wanted to design something for boys that are older than toddlers. I was thinking about how Seth can be loud and playful and he's growing up way too fast...so the multimedia sheet was born. The symbols that are used remind me of boys so much...stop, reverse, rewind, play, mute (lol).
Last but not least...
My "Dawn" rose was inspired by my hubby's Great Aunty Dawn. She's such a lovely lady, and I've adopted her as my own Aunty. When we first moved into our house, she bought us the most beautiful rose to plant in the front yard, and it has continued to flower year after year. Its a fighter, just like her. This picture was taken at the end of January at her 80th birthday celebration...the same day the first rose of the year bloomed. Coincidence...I think not.

Inspired Blueprints #41
Sketch 41 has been released at Inspired Blueprints! The design team has done an amazing job with this simple, one photo sketch. Check out their layouts on the blog.
Here's my take on the sketch. I've created the tree using a Hambly tree sticker and scalloped circles punched from BG Origins (love that range!). Photo by Janine Kaye.
This month, Inspired Blueprints is also featured in ScrapStreet.com magazine as a blog that matters! So absolutely thrilled!! The article starts on page 25 - here. The article features Sketch 41, together with DT samples. They were each asked what being on the DT means to them and I was absolutely touched by their answers. I'm so blessed to have met these wonderful women online and get to experience their talent sketch after sketch. Christa Paustenbaugh from our team also has a layout featured on the front cover! Way to go Christa!!
If you want to play along with this sketch, upload your take to the Inspired Blueprints gallery by 28 February 2010 to go into the draw for this month's prize.
Cheers, Lis.

Pebbles Inc reveal...
I'm hosting the Pebbles Inc blog this week and I set the challenge to the girls to create a layout using this colour scheme!
I love colour...every shade...and I love combining colours. Yellow, orange and green combined together are an analogous colour scheme...meaning the colours sit next to each other on the colour wheel. You can use this colour wheel to come up with your own colour schemes. You can make any colour combination work as long as you get the balance right...all you need to do is add a neutral such as white, black or brown.
Here's my take on the colour combo. My favourite colour to scrap with at the moment is yellow. Yellow is such a cheerful and happy colour. For this layout I wanted to use just a touch, but enough to balance the other colours. I have used a mix of patterned papers from the Downtown, So Tweet and Lil' Buddy collections from Pebbles Inc, as well as Pebbles Chips in yellow, brown Candy Dots and Pebbles Fishin' stickers. I've varied the sizes of the patterns used and the percentage of each colour to create a balanced layout.
I don't often use themed stickers, however Pebbles has a range of Mini Theme stickers that coordinate perfectly with their patterned papers, and are really economical to purchase.
I still have a few stickers left on the sheet and plenty more fishing photos, so they definitely won't go to waste. Andrew and Seth fish together regularly and the last time they went out, Seth caught 18 fish!! I hope in the years to come, Seth will look back on these layouts and remember how great it was fishing with his Dad.
Head on over to the Pebbles Inc blog to see how Beth and Mimi tackled this colour combo.
Cheers, Lis.

Savvy reveal...We're Savvy kit Feb.10
Today sees the release of the last "We're Savvy" kit I'll be designing for Scrapbook Savvy...and here its is. Love was one my mind when I put this one together...the colours are so soft and pretty but could be used for male or female layouts. There's a mix of Websters Pages, 7gypsies, SEI, Sassafras Lass and cardstock to match. The reverse of the patterned papers have yellows and stripes and beautiful colours that pop! I included one of my favourite Scrapware word trios...just perfect for titles! There's also a selection of 7gypsies tags to use. Head on over to the Savvy store to pick one up for yourself for the bargain price of only $25.00.
Here's a little something I created using the kit and few bits from my stash. Love love love those 7gypsies tags!
How fun is that punched scalloped border! Thanks Martha. lol. I haven't just scrapped for a while and I loved pushing the paper around on this one. There's still plenty left over in the kit and I will be creating some more loved up layouts soon. The delicious flower and leaves were a Fred The Needle find from our recent scrappy road trip.
As I said above, this was my last kit as I have decided to stand down from the Scrapbook Savvy design team. I have loved my time working for/with Sarah and I wish her and the team all the best. I will still be popping in though...great product, great community and loads of fun challenges and inspiration. Thanks Sar!
