Inspired Blueprints - Sketch 26

Sketch 26 has been released at Inspired Blueprints and its a double! The great thing about this sketch is that you can do the double, or separate it to make two different layouts! Go check out the IB blog to see what the DT have been creating.
Here's my take. The pics were taken at Kim's son's birthday party...love those painted faces!! I love that I was able to squeeze lots of b'day pics on the one layout.
Cheers, Lis.

Surprises are good...

I just bought Creating Keepsakes (Australian Edition) and to my surprise, there was one of my layouts in there! I knew it was coming out soon, but I didn't know which issue (lol). I just love those pics Janine took of the kids, and I'm so happy to see it in print!
Lots of yummy Scrapware on there too...Ange will be proud.
I've had a two week break from scrapping, (as I usually do after a retreat), then last night I created my first two layouts for Pebbles Inc. I can't share just yet...soon...product has to be released at CHA. It felt so good to be getting my mojo back, and there's nothing like a big box of new product to get you moving.
Cheers,
Lis.

Friends, Family and Fun...

Friends
I've decided to start making layouts about the people I cherish. These are the people I want to remember when I'm old and losing my faculties. lol. This layout is about Sandra. We first met at Scrapbooking Delights about 5.5 years ago. I started teaching there about 2 years ago and its like my second home. I'm so proud of Sandra too...she's just bit the bullet and become the new owner of Scrapbooking Delights! Way to go!! I can't wait to see what direction you take the shop in.
This layout is about Rachael, another scrapbooker who has become a dear friend. I met Rach at Addicted 2 Scrappin' on Wiggles night. She was painting these white plastic rivets deep blue and distressing the crap out of paper and I thought she was absolutely insane! lol...remember, I was ex-Creative Memories at the time. I swear Rach and I could almost be the same person, we have so much in common. Now, as well as scrapping together, we are ladies who lunch and chat and gossip...love her!
Family
For this one, I used the packaging that came with the Collage Press "Sweet Shoppe" collection Sandra gave me. I just love every single paper, and instead of cutting them up, I was able to reuse the packaging. Our kids just love lollipops, and could eat them all day long (if we let them).
I'm still dipping into that box of photos that Andrew found recently...here's Sethy-boy at around 6 months old. In these pics, my Dad was tickling him and Seth was giggling his chubby little head off. There are some more pics to go with it, so eventually it will be a double.
Another one of Sethy...this time at the playcentre. Most of the photos we have of Seth at that age show him wearing a bib. Not very attractive, but a definite necessity...he was a terrible dribbler and he also suffered from silent reflux, so he often made a mess of his clothes. I didn't realise I'd bought that Scenic Route paper twice (lol).
Fun
I've started scrapping some photos from our last family trip to England back in 2000. I won't be sitting down and doing them in one hit though, just a layout at a time and eventually they'll be done. These photos were taken at Skipton Castle. We were there in the May, and the blossoms at that time of year were just incredible. I fell in love with them instantly, and now I have four of these trees planted in the front yard. I look forward to spring every year to see those soft pink blooms!
Another necessity when travelling...the pit stop. These pics were taken on the side of the road somewhere between Skipton and York. There's Mum and Beth making lunch in the boot of the hire car, and the view. Always so lovely and green!
Well, that's it for now. Check back tomorrow for the release of the next Inspired Blueprints sketch!
Cheers, Lis.

Scrapbook Creations #68

So excited...this layout is featured in Scrapbook Creations Issue #68 as a part of Carol-lee Morgan's sketch article! The layout is pretty true to the original sketch, and the other versions are just gorgeous. Check them out at your local newsagents now.
The pics are of Eme jumping up and down on my cousin's trampoline. She was having the best time and her hair was flying everywhere. The blue background was pretty dominant in the pics, so I did my best to ignore it (lol). tfl.

Scrapbook Savvy - DT reveal & cybercrop

This month for Scrapbook Savvy, I got to play with the gorgeously girlie "Enchanting" range by Pink Paislee!
"Enchanting: When little girls giggle, we all giggle. These adorable designs will help you capture the magic of your little princess." - Pink Paislee

Well these patterned papers proved to be a lot more versatile than just for little princesses! Don't let their soft, girlie colours fool you. I've used them for a delightful Easter layout, a fun layout about my sister and I fooling around (we're big princesses  ) and also this layout about a trip to an English village. Enjoy...

"Village of Downham"
btw - Hi Aunty Doreen!

"Easter 2009"
"m&m's"

This weekend, there's also a Christmas in July Cybercrop on! Your entries don't need to be uploaded to the Savvy gallery until Thursday 16/7/09, so still plenty of time. The DT have set some awesome challenges; there's also a blind scrap and great prizes! I set the challenge to scrap one of your family traditions, and alternatively, if you don't have pics of your traditions, create a Christmas inspired layout based on this sketch. Here's my layout...I've scrapped the photos from last year's local Carols in the Park of me and the kids, and Anne and the girls. This is going to be a new tradition for us. We had a fabulous time singing carols and I can't wait to go again this year...although we will be better prepared with chairs and an esky and some coins for the kids to go play and have rides on the camel...Come and join in the fun at Scrapbook Savvy!

Cheers, Lis.

Tweet Tweet!

I can finally share! I've made the Pebbles Inc design team!!
I'm so excited and I can't wait to get creating with them. I never in a million years thought they'd select me and I'm totally grateful for the opportunity. Watch this space!

New from Scrapware

You want more boy stuff?!!
Well here it is.

New to Scrapware...cranes by Lisa Warren Designs! This crane is 11" high and the frame hanging from the crane contains a journaling block (or two) - pop that out and it fits a standard 6x4 photo. Its also available in a mini design, with the frame perfect for a passport sized photo.
I have also used CH205 Sunshine Sheet, and CH203 Fly Sweet Birdie Sheet. The patterned papers, lettering, epoxy stickers and flair are by American Crafts.

In this layout I have painted the crane and clouds white first, then sprayed with frost glimmermist. The frame was painted red, then finished off with dimensional magic. To get a textured look on the crane, I ran a textured stamp across the wet glimmermist and attached the crane to the layout with matching brads to replicate rivets. The clouds were dabbed with white paint for a moody look. I popped the journaling spot out of the frame and used them raw...same with that sweet birdie (except for his eye). The cloud has been covered in patterned paper and distressed.

There's been a heap of gorgeous product released by Scrapware this month...check out what the rest of the DT have been creating here.

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch #25

The new sketch has been revealed and so has the new DT! Check it out here! Here's the sketch and my take...
These pics were taken at Benson's b'day party and I just love how Kim captured Eme's personality. Nice bright patterned papers too...loving colour, it seriously makes me happy.

There's been some new product released by Scrapware!! Some really exciting projects are being revealed this week. Make sure you keep on eye on the blog.

Well, I'm all packed and ready to go on a retreat...back on Monday. See you then with some exciting news.
Lis.
