layouts to share...

Back to regular blogging...doesn't pay to dwell.

Here's a few layouts I created recently. This one features Scenic Route's "Garden Grove" range. Love the bright colours in this one and I especially love the dotted kraft cardstock!!
For ages I've been wanting to include one of the "mood alert" journaling sheets Scrapbooking Delights have in store, and finally I found some fun photos to use with it!! I've used new Momento papers for this one as well as some old stickers I had in my stash.
Lastly, this is a layout I created about myself for a dt call (I was unsuccessful...oh well), using Websters Pages.
Sar helped me photograph these ones...totally couldn't have done it by myself and I didn't have access to the scanner at the time. Thanks chook.

Do these things happen in three's?

I can't believe the news reports this morning. I'm so sad about their passing. RIP.
I grew up with these icons. I remember watching the making of Thriller and thinking it was the scariest thing ever. I love listening to MJ's music - even now. I loved Charlie's Angels and seriously would have loved to have had Farrah hair. Such a sad sad day.

more to share...

More from the Simply Obsessed Got Talent challenges...for this one we had to pick out an ad and create a layout inspired by it. I found this ad in an old issue of Simple Scrapbooks and I loved the graphic, grid style.
Here's my take. I liked the placement of the photos in the ad, as well as the little house (and lucky me...I had a Pink Paislee house in my stash!). I also used the strips of black, top and bottom, as well as the placement of the text. I think my layout looks similar in style to the ad.
The pics are of my mum and her sisters...the Wild girls! Great maiden name don't you think.

CCG #127 is up!

This week's colour combo is just so fresh and girlie!! I just couldn't help but make a layout about Eme and I.
cotton candy - creamy coconut - strawberry swirl - pistachio

For this one, I dug out an older photo of Eme and I taken back in November 2006. She was such a tiny little bubba and totally adorable (still is).
I have been going crazy with the paper crimper lately...the leaves have been folded in half and crimped for texture. I swear, if its not glued down, its getting the crimp treatment. The kids love that tool too, and I keep finding cut up and crimped pieces of paper all over the house! lol. I think they are both frustrated scrapbookers...mostly because I won't let them play with my stuf...hehe.

layouts to share...

A couple of weekends ago, I sat down and created 13 layouts and an otp...all just for the heck of it. I came across the Simply Obsessed's "SO's Got Talent" challenge and thought I'd give it a go. Mind you, the challenge had been running for a month and I managed to create all nine projects in two days! Nothing like leaving it to the last minute...lol.

This layout was for the "fussy cutting" challenge. Now, if you've been reading my blog for a while, you would have noticed that I don't usually cut out stuff, so this was a good challenge for me. I cut the branches from som WRMK papers and I also trimmed out the bird house from a Bella Blvde sticker. The pics are of Eme eating cake at my Aunty's 60th birthday. For this challenge, we had to make our own embellishments - another thing I don't normally do (lol). I made a couple of flowers out of lace by gathering them with thread and inserting a brad in the centre. This layout is fairly simple compared to what I normally do, but I love it nonetheless. Eme was only 4 days old when this photo was taken, and I'd forgotten how tiny she was!
This one was for the stamping challenge. Ages ago I purchased a CK kit of the month by Ali Edwards, and I just love the stamps that were included, but I don't use them all too often. These pics are from Versailles, France. Beth and I went there for a weekend trip, however we didn't realise it was the May Day weekend. It was so busy and the line up to get into Versailles Palace was unbelievably long, so we skipped it and hung out in the town centre instead. The gardens were just beautiful. We sat in the tulips and watched a May Day parade, then bought some brie and a crate of strawberries at the local market. I still remember Beth ordering in her best french/aussie accent. lol. We then had lunch at Les McDonalds - wonderful french cuisine (rotfl).
For this one, I had to take inspiration from a piece of art. I took the colours from the piece, as well as the grid of three across the middle. This pic is from the flight over to visit my sister when she was living in England (see post above). I can't believe I still had my boarding pass after that many years.
This one is from the "Rockstar" challenge. There was a list of materials to chose from and I picked black cardstock, transparency, bling and staples...they're all there, trust me. That American Crafts paper is so vibrant and goes perfect with the hot pink Hambly transparency.
There are plenty more to share, but I've gotta pace myself...lol. Thanks for looking.
Lis.

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch 24

Sketch 24 has been released at Inspired Blueprints! Here's 'tis...
.. and here's my take. The photos are from Andrew's birthday in January, with the kids "helping" him blow out the candles...lol. Why is it, whenever there's lit candles about, kids aren't too far away. The journaling spot behind the word "b'day" is another by Scrapware called "Kapow!"... don't you just love it!
I have been doing some serious scrapping lately...but I won't bore you with it all right now. Just one quick layout...this one is a heap of photos Seth took with a disposal camera one day when he went to visit Great Great Aunty Dawn with Granny and Papa. I printed the photos as "mini prints", then just stuck them on a sheet of cardstock, added the title and journaling block and called it done. He's pretty happy to see all of his photos in one place, but I did get in trouble because I didn't let him do it...d'oh. lol.
I hope you're all keeping well. I'll be updating again shortly to share some of the other layouts I've been working on.
Cheers, Lis.

CCG #125 is up...

Time for some more colour inspiration from Colour Combos Galore!

CCG #125
red brick - bold black - mustard seeds - blue jean denim

I have gones slightly brighter with this one...I didn't happen to have any product in those colours (shock, horror...I know!). These pics of Andrew and Eme were taken down at Wollongong Harbour one afternoon after work, and they didn't know I was taking them.

In other news, Scrapbook Savvy are having a cybercrop this weekend! Come and join in the fun. It starts this Friday night at 6pm. There's some great challenges and games planned, and great prizes...see you there!

There are also coordinating self adhesive chipboard pieces and stickers. Perfect for layouts of your little ones...and even yourself! mulitphoto layouts to share...

Last Friday night I had the pleasure of scrapping at the Scrapbook Savvy crop and managed to create a few layouts using some older photos. My hubby recently found a box of photos that we hadn't seen for quite some time, so I decided to set aside the new ones and work backwards for a while.

This layout features some photos of Beth and I travelling across the English Channel back in May 2000. Even though the northern hemisphere was heading into summer, it was absolutely freezing!!! That didn't deter us from sitting outside though and soaking up the view. I love that shot of our boots...we both went through a phase of wearing Doc Martens. Here's a few pics of our cuties in the back seat after a long drive home from the grandparents. Look how little Eme is!! She's grown up so quickly. I love those rosey, chubby cheeks.
Ok, so these pics aren't all that old, but they are a bit of fun. They were taken at Kim's son's birthday party in April and I had a lot of fun joining in...face painting, party food and balloon shapes...what more could you want?!!
Lastly, here's a couple of pics of baby Sethy!! Look at that lovely, red baby hair. He always used to turn his dummy sideways so that it'd rub against his nose...no idea what that was about, but it kept him happy. Those were the days...
Thanks for sharing this trip down memory lane. I love that I've freed myself from scrapping chronologically.
Cheers, Lis.
btw - P!NK was awesome!!! I took around 700 photos and have the massive task of editing them. I'll share some soon.

Look where I'm going tonight!!

Woohoo!! I can't wait! We have dance floor tickets, so flat shoes it is! lol. Andrew and I saw Pink a couple of years ago in Sydney and she was awesome!!! If she's half as good as last time, I'm in for a fantastic night.

Hope you're all having a great long weekend.

Savvy - DT reveal

Photobucket
This month, I had the joy of playing with Rose Moka's "Appel de la Nature" papers and lettering. I love the vibrancy of this range, and with both girlie and boyish colours included, its incredibly versatile! The papers are double side, cardstock weight. The coordinating mini letters are fab too! I have also included Thickers, Daisy D's rubon tape, Glimmermist, ticket stubs and My Minds Eye Journaling cards, all of which are available in the Scrapbook Savvy store right now!
Photobucket

Layout - Right Now

This simple layout documents my son's vitals as at the age of 6. The MME journaling card made it incredibly easy - just fill in the details!
Layout - Easily Amused

On this layout, I have used a Heidi Swapp mask and glimmermist to create an easy embellishment. I have also outlined the letters in a brown felt tip pen to highlight the lettering. Instead of journaling on the cards, I have used Rose Moka mini alphabets.

Layout - Celebrate
Strips of patterned paper layered behind my photos create a simple and effective background for this layout. I have added brads to the flowers printed on the patterned paper base.
Enjoy!

Savvy June challenge

Well, the calendar has turned over to another month, so time to reveal this month's sketch challenge at Scrapbook Savvy! I just love this sketch by PageMaps. I have a tonne of diecut bracket style papers, and this sketch is perfect for them. Here's my take. This is one of the photos I took of Eme at Seth's birthday party. She looks so adorable in this pic and I just had to journal a few of the things I love about her. She's such a vibrant and playful little girl and I just adore her (most of the time...lol).
Can't wait to see your versions of the sketch in the Savvy gallery. You have until 30 June 2009 to upload your entries. The winner will receive a $25 gift voucher to spend at Savvy!
btw - seriously, what happened to May?
