so...

No photos or layouts this post...sorry. lol.

This week has been a good week. I've been incredibly productive creating stuff for Scrapware for SIA. There's going to be some very very delicious products released and I can't wait to share them with you. I am even going to release some of my own designs! Look out world, here comes "heyhoewarren designs" for Scrapware. My stuff is fun and usable, with some journaling stuff thrown in. I also created some layouts for the GCD Studios DT call...not sure how I'll go as they've had over 350 applicants, but you've got to be in it to win it, right. This week I had 3 layouts picked up by Scrapbooking Memories magazine, and this morning I received an email from Scrapbooks Etc saying they want to publish my dilemma for an upcoming "Scrapbook 911" article - too fun! Can't wait to see how they answer my question...can't share what it is just yet. All in all, its been a busy scrapbooking week.

This morning, Seth played his first official game of rugby league. His team didn't win, but he had an absolute ball running around and tackling other kids. He was so dirty by the end! Andrew is the water runner for the team and we just love calling him the "water boy" (thanks Adam Sandler...lol...that's some highly quality H2O). I volunteered to wash the jerseys this week, which in hindsight wasn't that smart because the team wore the white ones this week. lol. Andrew sprayed them heavily with prewash then threw in a few scoops of napisan and they look lovely and bright...thank goodness. I love seeing them hanging on the line.

Tonight, Seth and Andrew have gone to the Eels first home game for the season with Nathan and Racheal at Parramatta Stadium. I totally hope they win...hate it when they come home after a loss. The ARL released the new State of Origin ad this week, and Seth, Andrew and Nathan are in it!! They form part of the crowd...you have to look really closely.

So, while they're out doing the boy thing, Eme and I are having a girlie night in. We've indulged with a bit of crafting (Eme found my glitter and now I have shimmery pink carpet instead of cream), then we watched Camp Rock and a bit of High School Musical 2 before she went to bed. Love that I've got an excuse to watch Disney. lol. It was such a lovely evening with my little girl - she's at that age now where she wants to do lots of girlie stuff with me like craft and dress-ups and playing hairdressers - its a lot of fun! Eme made a card tonight for baby Brooklyn, who we'll be going to meet tomorrow. I can't wait to have a cuddle!

That's about it for now. I will be at SIA until Wednesday evening and I'm sure there'll be lots to talk about after that. Have a great weekend everyone.

Lis.

CCG #115

This week at Color Combos Galore, the DT created layouts using Belinda's colour scheme!
cloud blue - apple evergreen - dusty pink - chocolate malt
So fresh and lovely! I decided to go with slightly more vibrant shades...and had a little play at making a scenic background. SEI paper for the trees, Fancy Pants for the mountains and American Crafts clouds...
The photo is just one that I love...I've probably scrapped it before (or at least one very similar), but I just adore it. Janine did a fabulous job capturing my children's personalities.
I'm going through a phase of using lots of different letters on a page. Love the different fonts and mixing dimensional letters with stickers. How divine is that butterfly? A real find at the local junk shop...and a bit chunky to scan, so Kim photographed my layout (thanks!).
Now that you've seen this week's color combo...pop into the gallery and play! Looking forward to seeing what you create.

Thickers challenge and just for fun...

This week on the American Crafts blog, there's a challenge to use 3 different types of Thickers on the one layout...and considering I have like, 40 packets of them, it was no challenge at all! lol. Here's my layout... I have used Tinsel (foil), Typo (chipboard) and Sprinkles (vinyl) Thickers...all in the one word. I've also used AC PP (Edith Fitzbolt from the Craft Affair range - great name huh?!) and AC fashion accents stickers. This layout is about Sethy-boy's love of 80's music! Yay, no Hi-5 in our house!

Next up, a layout for the family album...celebrating Jack's sixth birthday. Jodie made Jack's cake...doesn't it look fab! Jack loves Ben 10 (what 6 year old boy doesn't?!), so for a no-fuss cake, Jodie purchased an "Heatblast" mask, put lollies underneath like a pinata and placed the mask on top! Totally brilliant idea and it looked fantastic!
I have been scrapping up a storm this weekend - projects for SIA and for Scrapbook Creations. I love how they turned out, but unfortunately, can't share any of them just yet...watch this space. Lots more projects to create this week and then the tradeshow starts on 31/3/09...can't wait!

Have a great week everyone.
Lis.
ps. My cousin has just gone into labour!! You may remember this layout...can't wait to meet their bub.
edited to add...Well, we didn't have to wait too long! Belinda and Chris welcomed their baby girl, Brooklyn Elizabeth Pascoe at 2.46pm, weighing 4.1kg (9lb). Mum and bub are doing well, not sure about Chris (lol).

I love reunions...

and I'm about to be reunited with her...

She's Dream Date Barbie (1983), and she's beautiful! I had her as a little girl and I just adored playing with her. Her dress can be changed into different styles too depending on how you wrap it around her. Loving the hot pink and purple combo and that side pony! I used to lie her flat on the floor and brush her hair for hours. I once made her an apartment out of mum's nesting coffee tables that was candle lit (birthday candle) too...unfortunately the flame got too close to Beth's toy puppy and it caught on fire! oops...lol. She also had an awesome convertible car (my rollerskate). Those were the days!

For some reason, I've been wanting to get her back...guess its because Eme loves playing with Barbie now and I want her to enjoy the same ones I did. I have no idea what happened to my one, so I've been scouring ebay, and I just had the winning bid! YAY!! She's in perfect condition, never removed from the box! Not sure if I'll actually get it out...lol. Now all I need is Peaches and Cream Barbie and Pretty and Pink Barbie and all my childhood Barbies will be together again. I'm thinking there's a layout here...watch this space.

lol. Lis.

CCG #114

This week's Colour Combo has been released...and it such a pretty and feminine combination. The CCG DT has done an amazing job and I love seeing how everyone interprets the colour scheme...check them out here.

pink ballerina - spicy orange - vanilla - cinnabar red
(don't you just love those names!)

My layout features photos from my cousin Michelle's wedding. Eme couldn't take her eyes off Michelle as she walked down the aisle and listened intently as Michelle and David took their vows. Since then, Eme has been obsessed with all things wedding...she want to be a bride! lol. She's even tried on my veil and tiara! Eme tells me she's going to marry her boyfriend Blake, and she's going to wear her gold dress - the gold dress she's actually wearing in the photo above! Don't know how she's going to fit into it when she's old enough to marry, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it...lol. Its so lovely being a mum to a girlie girl...though she is a very good tomboy too. Love her!

I'd love to see your take on the Color Combo...come join us here.

Cheers, Lis.

ps. Its taking me a while to get used to spelling colour "color"...bear with me people...

GCD...

have a new blog! Click on the pic below to check it out!

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch 12 and other stuff

Sketch 12 has been released on the Inspired Blueprints blog! This one comes to you courtesy of Christy. I love the simplicity of this sketch, and you should check out how the design team have interpreted this one! So diverse!! ...and here's my take...
Once again, I've used goodies from my Lime Tart kit. I just love the colours in this one...so soft...they reminded me of these pics by Janine. I've been wanting to scrap these pics of Sethy-boy and I for a little while and this sketch was perfect for them...I just adore this little boy!

This weekend, Seth had his second footy match, and he almost scored a try! We were shouting and cheering as he ran down the sideline, and no one was going to catch him...but he dropped the ball over the line! We couldn't believe it!! He was running so fast and he tried to adjust the ball position and just lost control. Oh well, he was so happy just running and having fun, and that's the main thing. Papa and Uncle Nathan came along to watch too.
Emeline is sick again...cold/flu thing going on and asthma. We've had a couple of nights with her in our bed snoring her little head off and having Ventolin throughout the night. Hopefully she's over the worst of it. She was on hourly intervals at one point and we've now stretched her out to 4 hourly...watch this space. She was, however, able to help wash the car...there was no way she was going to miss out on playing in the soapy bucket!
Yesterday I went to Guys and Dolls with Mum and Beth. We went for lunch in Chinatown and then wandered up to the theatre. The Capitol is a beautiful old building...I should have taken some pics of the interior..oh well. I met Mark Taylor there (Aussie cricketing legend) and then managed to trip over in front of him! So embarrassing. The show was excellent! The cast was fantastic! I always love seeing Marina Prior perform!!

btw - that pic bottom right shows what happens when you eat too many blue m&m's! lol.

All through the show, all I could think about was this episode of the Simpsons when Mark Hamill/Luke Skywalker was starring in Guys and Dolls...

Hamill: Luke, be a Jedi tonight! Just be a Jedi tonight!
Hamill & Chorus: Do it for Yoda, while we serve our guests a soda.
Hamill: Uh, and do it for Chewie and the Ewoks, and all the other puppets ...
Hamill & Chorus: Luke, be a Jedi tonight!

I had to stifle my giggles when they starting singing "Luck be a lady tonight...".

hehehe...have a good one everyone! Cheers, Lis.

layouts to share...

Sometimes you just have to break open the supplies and play...are you noticing a theme here...
I'm right into teal, orange and yellow at the moment. My friend Sandra knows me all too well, and bought those delicious yellow thickers for my birthday (as well as some other goodies)! I'm a lucky girl.

On the injury front...I'm healing well. Not as sore and definitely no breaks, but still all kinds of black/blue/green/yellow... everyday is an adventure! lol. Thanks everyone for your concern...there's a lesson here...don't be climbing up shop fittings to buy any kind of scrapbooking item! lol. My hubby would suggest, don't buy any at all! Let's not be rash people...
Thank you too for your congratulations on my DT possie at Color Combos Galore! Special shout out to Sar - thanks for your support chook!

Last night Rachael and I went to the premiere of this...
Totally fun movie and good for a giggle. Isla Fisher was excellent and totally believable...a far departure from her days on Home and Away (Aussie soap opera). btw, I would kill for Becky Bloomwood's wardrobe - oh, the shoes, the bags, the colourful outfits!! I was in heaven! If you haven't read the novels, do yourself a favour...find them and read them! So funny!

Have a good one, Lis.
ps. I want to know why blogger doesn't recognise "scrapbooking" as a correctly spelt word yet...I use it often enough! lol.

Well, colour me happy!

I've been selected to join the Color Combos Galore design team for 2009!! I'm so excited! I love the idea that the only constraints I have are to use particular colours. It makes scrapping so easy, and my albums are becoming really colourful...something that makes me incredibly happy.
So here are the layouts I created to submit for the DT call and the colour combinations that inspired them. All of the applicants had to use this scheme (CCG#113) and then select one of your choice.
CCG#113 american blue - clay - persimmon - poolside blue
This layout features a self portrait by Eme. She is just the sweetest little girl and so totally loving. I'm so blessed to call her my daughter. You may notice something on that layout that's new...a Scrapware chipboard flourish designed by ME! This, and more, will be released by Scrapware over the next few months!! Ask for them at your lss.
CCG#101 spiced pumpkin - ivory - pastel pink - storm
I just love these pics of Eme and my friend Cherie's baby, Cody. Eme has never seen a newborn baby! She was so excited to meet him, have a cuddle and just soak in his newborn smell! Cody grabbed Eme's finger too, and I swear she nearly cried, she was that happy!!

I'm so happy Janet has the faith in me to be a part of the DT for the next 12 months. The rest of the DT totally rocks too!! Check it out here. Hope you can play along.

Cheers, Lis.

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch #11

Sketch 11 is up at Inspired Blueprints, and here's my take! How sweet is that photo?!! I love taking pics of the kids when they don't know I have my camera with me. These delicious papers and embellies are from my Lime Tart kit. Check out the IB blog for the DTs layouts...absolutely gorgeous! So, here's the sketch...I'd love to see your take! Upload your layouts to the gallery by the end of the month and you could be in the running to win a $40 gift certificate from Noel Mignon! Awesome...got to be in it to win it!!
As for me...I'm coming out in some awesome bruises down my left side, as well as the back of my head and right forearm. Typing and writing are quite painful atm, so I will be seeing a doctor tomorrow with the possibility of x-rays, just in case. I'm pretty sure its only soft tissue damage, but have to rule out a fracture. Thanks everyone for your concern. I will be okay soon.

I have some exciting news soon too! Watch this space!

today...

Has been an interesting one. It started incredibly early. I got home from the midnight crop around 1am, then couldn't drop off to sleep until 4am! I knew this would be bad news. I was woken up at 7am to get ready to take Seth to his first rugby league match. He did so fantastically and my chest was swelled with pride. He made a few good breaks, tackled a couple of kids and had fun. What more could a parent ask for? We came home, had lunch and a rest, then I decided to go visit Sandra at Spotlight. All was going well until I decided I need a purple rhinestone butterfly. To get said butterfly, I had to climb onto the shop fitting and reach high above my arms reach. I got the butterfly, stepped down on top of Eme's doll's pram, which she had strategically wheeled under my foot, and went flying backwards, the butterfly took flight too. I have no idea what happened, it was all so fast. I broke Eme's pram, hit my head and arm on the shelving behind me, knicked my foot on another shelf and was in general pain. My arm swelled up instantly and briefly I thought I'd broken it. The Spotlight manager called an ambulance and I called Andrew to come and get me. After being checked over, I was bandaged up and sent home with instructions to see a doctor tomorrow if I was still in pain. I am still in pain, so looks like I'm in for a fun night. My arm is killing me...as is my ankle, other wrist, head, shoulder, back...you name it. Man, I felt so stupid!! Man, I'm so annoyed that Spotlight are displaying product so dangerously high! Man, I don't want to see the photos Sandra took of me being patched up! lol.

Take care...I know I will be in future! Lis.

ps. Thank you so much everyone who's sent me sweet birthday wishes! I had a fabulous celebration this year and you all made it that much more special. mwah!!

one spoilt girl!

Yep, a gorgeous big bunch of flowers from my Mum and Dad! An early birthday pressie for tomorrow. The last photo is a little grainy, but I had to show how huge they are - they're actually taller than my children!!

On a roll...

The next CCG scheme is up (#112) and I've done a layout already! How inspiring does "zesty teal - clear blue sky - bright yellow sun - firecracker red" sound? I had to dig into my stash straight away.Teal is one of my favourite colours, and I'm loving yellow - so much so, that my yellow stash is looking decidedly bare! Might have to invest in a little bit more...hmmm. One colour that doesn't get much of a work out is purple, and my blue section is overflowing so I might have to challenge myself to use those two a little bit more often. So...here's my take on the colour combo...
The pics are of Andrew and Seth mucking around in the backyard with the hose...such a novelty! We very rarely use our hose (check out how dry our yard is!), but on this particular day it was 40C+, and the Minister relaxed water restrictions so that children could play under the hose and sprinklers (we don't even own one, and the kids don't know what one is!). They had a ball for about 10mins...I felt incredibly guilty that we were using water considering the drought conditions. Great fun while it lasted, but now its back to being frugal.

Cheers, Lis.

Colour combo crazy...

Yeah, since I've found my love of colour, I've been going back through the older combos at Color Combos Galore and making some new layouts. This first one is from CCG #109.
These pics are by Janine. Totally love how Janine captured Eme's excitement to see her Daddy. I also managed to use up some Hambly and Making Memories papers I've been hanging onto for that "special" layout. Its time I realised, they're all special and just use it instead of having it collect dust in my stash. Next up, CCG #108.

Self portrait...its hard to pucker up and click at the same time! lol. Andrew has been spending a bit of time away for work recently and I'm always ecstatic for him to come home...two reasons; I miss him terribly and I'm not cut out to be a single mum! Check out that flower! Its new, its delicious, it comes in heaps of colours; by Bella.Lastly, Sethy-boy picked out CCG #102 and this photo for me to work with.

Love these boy-ish colours. Seth picked well! The journaling, I'm sure he didn't expect...he looks like such a cutie here, but he's being a little ratbag at the moment (its the red hair. lol). The attitude...the drama...the tantrums...the selective hearing...all add up to frustration, but I can't help but love this little boy. Let's hope its just a phase. Photo by Janine. If you're looking for inspiration, I highly recommend you pop into CCG. There's a new scheme up (very primary colours) and I'll be having a go soon. Cheers, Lis.
