quick catch up

What a busy few days ... I haven't been to work for a week and I'm really missing it (sad I know). Early last week I noticed a small lump on the side of my face - by the end of the week it had spread down my neck and was incredibly painful. I couldn't move my head properly, so thought I better go to the doctor. Turns out I was bitten by a spider (unknown type and when) and the venom had gotten into my blood stream - I was freaking out hoping it wasn't a white tail. I'm on my second course of antibiotics - the first lot weren't doing anything, and the swelling has finally come down.

On Monday I took Eme to the doctor because she was coughing a lot. You know how you should always trust your maternal instinct, well I wasn't satisfied with the doctor's diagnosis, so I took her to the hospital because she was really struggling to breathe. The registrar and paediatrician monitored her for 5 hours in emergency, then admitted her because she's suffering from asthma - that was a shock. I stayed at the hospital overnight in the children's ward and the nurses gave her Ventolin every hour. She responded really well and they released her late Tuesday. We now have to give her Ventolin over the next few days and wean her off it. They also put together an asthma action plan so we know what to do next time. Hopefully that won't be for a long time - if ever! Andrew commented later that we didn't take any photos of her in the hospital - it didn't even occur to me - sometimes you just have to live the moments.

While we were in emergency I received a text to say my friends Cherie and Michael had welcomed a baby girl into the world - Cheyenne Lily - so absolutely thrilled for them and can't wait to meet her myself!

My classes at Scrapbooking Delights are filling up fast which is really encouraging. The same class is now being run on Wed 13/6/07 and Thurs 14/6/07 from 7-9pm. If you're in the area and want to come along, bookings are essential. I have designed three pages and prepared class kits - very exciting. We'll be learning some new techniques and having some fun - what more could you want.

Cheers everyone and thanks to those who made it to the end of my ramblings.

ps - I will post photos soon from Seth's birthday - very tardy I know.
